Gazeley includes within its boundaries the hamlet known as Needham where stands the attractive farm-house known as Needham Hall and it was here on a field that lightening caused considerable havoc some hundred and eighty years ago, when two horses were killed during a storm and the fanner suffered considerable injuries. Near the ancient Church is a friendly spot, for here stands the village inn and several cottages and before the days of piped water, that useful adjunct, a village well.
