Model Church auctioned for charity
Model Church auctioned for charity

A model of St Mary the Virgin Church, Santon Downham is being auctioned to raise money for the church.

This model of St Mary the Virgin was made by a very experienced "Model Maker", now in his late 80’s.

He has given it to us to, raise money for church repairs.(We are inspected by an Architect every 5 years, and advised to carry out a list of jobs in the building and in the churchyard. The cost of these repairs varies from £l0,000 to £25,000). So, we work hard at raising money for these repairs, and any others which arise from time to time.

The "Model Maker" suggested that we auction it and award it to the highest bidder. We, therefore, display the model on each Sunday of our Summer Teas season, this year.

If you would like to make a bid, write your address and phone number on the outside of an envelope. Then, write your bid on one of the cards, seal the envelope, and place it in the "ballot box”.
The envelopes will be opened in mid—September, after our annual Harvest Supper, and will notify the highest bidder. If you want to know who was that bidder, call us on 01842 — 812985. in early October.

The reserve price for the model is £40.
