To many, Beck Row is just a collection of houses, a school, a pub, a petrol
station, a shop or two and little else. However, we shall attempt to put some
flesh on the bones of a village that appears to be passed through more often
than stopped in. We hope to provide a little of the history of the village on
the edge of the fens, the community that survived on meagre returns from poor
soil and duststorms. There will be background on the building of chapel, church
and school together with some of the more prominent buildings in the village;
some of which remain others long since gone.
