Barton HallBarton Hall was built in 1745. Owners in this century included Mrs Norah Hanbury-Kelk (after whom the Nature Reserve was named), Lady Hilton Green (who kept greyhounds and won the Greyhound Derby) and a Mr Rush. Servicemen were billeted there during world war 2. In 1982 it became a home for autistic young adults and was renamed Middlefield Manor in 1990. Copyright 2000: O. Jennings |
