Terrific Turnout...

16/06/99

Over 50 villagers from Moulton, Tuddenham, Cavenham, Freckenham, Red Lodge, Beckrow and Barton Mills attended our first Open Meeting (Tue 15/6/99) at Tuddenham Village Hall. On display was everything from a prehistoric Plesiosaur dinosaur bone, photographs of Tuddenham through the seasons and information on the local airfield. Sandie Geddes gave a fascinating talk on "Parish Records, Aggregates and Family Reconstitution" and the web site was available for people to surf!. The Next Open Meeting is on Wed 18th August, 7.30pm at Santon Downham Village Hall. Colin Dring, our guest speaker will to tell us about Tithe Maps and The Enclosures.

Records Revisited - Tue 7 Sept, 7.30pm
Following the success of the last group visit to the Bury Records Office, they have kindly agreed to host another one. This will coincide well with the start of the 22villages project so make sure your village does not miss out (max 25 places). Please book through Joe.

22villages project... Never Heard of it!
A set of displayboards promoting the 22villages is now available. They are 2.1m high by 3.2m wide and can be borrowed, free of charge, to help you raise awareness among your villagers at local meetings and fetes etc. They are extremely easy to assemble (it says here!) and the imagery is already attached to the boards and as they are covered in loop nylon accept Velcro dots to attach your own posters.
